This charming video is of Nevada, a border collie diver of great skill and grace underwater, beautifully captured by Little Friends Photo.

Border Collies aren’t traditionally thought of as water dogs, but my current crew loves to play in the water and Border Collies are also excelling at water dog sports like Dock Diving.

Diving and Swimming Border Collies and Collies are no stranger to my eyes. Our dog beach has frequent Border Collie vistors. The owners throw a ball as they sit on beach over and over and over for them to swim out retrieve and bring back. We also have another dog (not sure of breed) who is outfitted with a mask that snorkels with owner. Herding breeds will swim –my collies love the beach. Kathy
That is an amazing photo and love the video! We recently bet Ned swimming and he totally loves the water and we have a tough time getting him off the beach. He’s a long way from putting his head underwater on purpose however…thats very cool.

My border collie hates the water – won’t go near it. He hates getting wet full stop. If it’s raining, even if he really needs to pee, he’ll refuse to go outside and needs to be dragged out…
But then he’s a weird old dog… he also bats his toys around in his paws like a cat and cleans his face just like a cat does…
I always thought border collies must be cat-like dogs but maybe it’s just my one 🙂
